Job summary

  • Must hold National Registry Advanced EMT or Paramedic license for 2+ years.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in EMS program evaluation of student learning.
  • Successful completion of courses or program appropriate to the assignment as an assistant.
  • Knowledge of postsecondary technical education mission and academic course standards.
  • Skill in preparing lab simulations and scenarios.
  • Skill in classroom, lab, or clinic content delivery.
  • Computer and job-related software proficiency.
  • Accurate grade-keeping skills.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: Georgia EMS Instructor Advanced or Paramedic license.
  • Preferred: Postsecondary teaching experience.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Blackboard LMS or another online LMS.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

  • Instruct, supervise, and evaluate students in classroom and lab settings.
  • Complete annual training as assigned.
  • Evaluate students' progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Meet with students, staff and educators regarding instructional programs.
  • Ensure lab safety and security requirements are met.
  • Ensure students follow safety rules for equipment and tools.
  • Maintain clean and orderly classrooms and work areas.
  • Ensure work-related projects meet industrial standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty to establish, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain classroom instructional materials and notify supervisors about defective equipment or supply needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description
