Job summary

Central Texas College seeks a part-time adjunct instructor for the Mathematics Department on the Central Campus in Killeen, TX. The candidate will teach up to 19.5 hours, daytime and evening lecture classes, and oversee course outcomes.

Responsibilities include teaching Engineering courses, CAD-related drafting, online and dual-credit delivery, and maintaining attendance and grade records in accordance with CT College policies. Strong verbal, writing, and tech skills required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering with 18 graduate hours.
• Three years of teaching at the college engineering level preferred.
• Qualified to teach Engineering courses.
• Willing to teach traditional, online, and dual credit courses.
• Strong verbal and writing skills and computational ability.
• Experience with educational technology and learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard).
• Experience with CAD programs for surveying and drafting.
• Maintain course objectives and student progress records per policy.
• Submit attendance, grades, and progress records by due date.

• Ensure course objectives defined in the syllabus are met.
• Demonstrate ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse learners.

Job description

This job requires instructional duties that are discipline specific for the Mathematics Department. Instructors will teach a maximum of 19.5 hours. Instructor must be available to teach daytime and evening lecture classes on the Central Campus.

Adjunct (part-time), semester-based employment with compensation based on course load and institutional pay schedule.

• Master's Degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education with 18 graduate hours in Engineering.

Three years teaching in the College Engineering level preferred.

• Qualified to teach Engineering courses.
• Willingness to teach traditional, online & dual credit courses.
• Demonstrate a high level of verbal and writing skills as well as computational skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways.
• Experience using educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).

• This position requires working knowledge of CAD programs application to surveying, machine drafting, engineering drafting, and to related fields.
• Ensure the course objectives, as defined in the syllabus, are accomplished.
• Knowledge of basic and advanced drafting concepts and advanced drafting applications.
• Demonstrated skill in instruction and facilitation before small groups and individuals.
• The successful candidate must have experience in the application of field surveying and manufacturing processes.
• Must have good planning and organizational skills.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with college policies; submit certification rolls require by the Central Texas College Registrar office by submission due date.
