The Peabody Preparatory at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, invites applications for an Adjunct Early Childhood Music teaching position in the Early Childhood Music Department. Start date is August 2026. The successful candidate will provide group-based music instruction to birth to 5-year-olds and their families, following the program developed by Dr.

Eric Rasmussen. Training will be provided as part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music, music education, and/or early childhood education is required.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.
• Documented successful teaching experience required.
• Experience and an exceptional manner with children birth to 5 years.
• Excellent musicianship and comfortable in melodies in all tonalities and meters.
• A background in early childhood music is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 classes per campus over the summer (6 weeks).
• During the academic year, teach up to 4 classes on Saturday mornings.
• Possible weekday morning classes for the fall and spring semesters.
• Depending on availability, potential additional opportunities at other campuses.
