Job summary

Fairfield University is seeking part-time adjunct instructors for its Core Writing Program starting September 2026. Selected candidates will teach up to two sections of ENGL 1001 (Introduction to Rhetoric and Composition).

The selected candidates may teach up to two 3-credit sections of ENGL 1001 (Introduction to Rhetoric and Composition).**Requirements:** The Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition is preferred. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, or English are considered if candidates bring demonstrated understanding of the discipline of Rhetoric and Composition. Demonstrated excellence in teaching first-year writing is required.
