Job summary

Somerset Community College's Career and Technical Department invites applications for part-time CDL Instructor positions. This role will provide CDL-A range and road instruction, monitor and document student progress and attendance.

Minimum qualifications include two years of over-the-road experience with a standard transmission and a valid Class-A CDL. Teaching experience is preferred. Official transcripts may be required upon hire. Work location is on-site at Somerset.

Job Duties

• Provide instruction so the students are well-educated and able to pass their written CDL-A permit test, as well as their skills and road tests.
• Emphasize safety concepts, principles and procedures.
• Help ensure that the trucks are safe, clean and well maintained.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two (2) years of over-the-road experience with a standard transmission.
• Class-A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience
