Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL seeks a part-time Biology instructor to teach college-level courses such as General Biology, Cell Biology, Anatomy and Physiology. The role requires a Master's degree in Life Sciences and at least 2,000 hours in the field, with a focus on student retention and success.
Applicants should be able to prepare syllabi, deliver diverse instructional modalities, assess student performance, and maintain accurate records.
Responsible for teaching in discipline areas as assigned by the respective division chair. All instructors are expected to demonstrate a mastery of the subject matter and a commitment to teaching and learning with a focus upon student retention and success.
Essential Job Functions:
BIOSCIENCE/Anatomy-Physiology INSTRUCTOR. Part‑time, Faculty position. Lake Land College. Qualified candidates will need to teach college‑level courses in areas of the Biological Sciences, such as General Biology, Cell Biology, Animal Behavior, Microbiology, Anatomy, and Physiology, or other interdisciplinary life sciences. Minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Life Sciences or related Life Science field with an emphasis in at least 18 graduate‑level credits in Biology courses. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology.
