Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION :
- Develop and deliver instructional lectures and laboratories for American Sign Language courses up to 6 – 10 hours/week;
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
- Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.
REQUIRED DUTIES :
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
- 1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university AND two years of experience teaching Deaf Studies;
- 2. Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND six years of experience teaching Deaf Studies;
- 3. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990);
- 4. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above. Applicants applying on the basis of equivalency must complete all Equivalency questions on their application in addition to all other required materials.

Salary Range
Salary Range: $47.07 – $78.42/Lecture Rate Per Hour
