Adhesives Production Operator (Manufacturing)

Position Responsibilities:

1. Proper operation of transfer controls, PLC systems, pneumatic, and electrical equipment for offloading raw materials.
2. Unload bulk raw materials and intermediates from bulk to storage or packages.
3. Sample incoming raw materials and perform water testing for batches.
4. Conduct analyses such as viscosity, NCO%, solid content, and moisture tests for polyols as needed.
5. Read batch and operating instructions related to raw material preparation.
6. Differentiate raw materials by product family for proper usage of portable pumps or flexible hoses.
7. Select appropriate portable equipment for different product lines and raw material families.
8. Load raw materials into reactors via bulk storage or packaged containers.
9. Prepare re-work and partials containers in ovens for upcoming batches.
10. Load re-work and partials packages into reactors.
11. Use proper checklists to track raw material charging.
12. Make adjustments to the batch as needed.
13. Prepare packaging materials (labels, bung caps, clean drums/totes, seals) and store appropriately.
14. Re-package finished goods for customer shipments.
15. Recognize and document abnormal operating conditions and respond accordingly.
16. Maintain plant cleanliness according to housekeeping standards.
17. Perform physical cycle counts.
18. Maintain daily logs and records as instructed.
19. Assist in training new operators.
20. Participate in safety activities and meetings.
21. Contribute to investigative teams and site initiatives (e.g., PHAs, PSSR).
22. Maintain boiler logs and manage boiler operator schedule (optional with black seal boiler certification).
