Job summary

VulcanForms in Massachusetts is seeking an Engineering Technician to operate and maintain LPBF printers, translate part designs into builds, and ensure equipment readiness with thorough documentation.

The role works with the Applications and Process Engineering team, executing print jobs, supporting qualification activities, monitoring quality, and collaborating across manufacturing to enable production scaling. Hours are Mon–Wed and every other Thu 6am–6pm.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 2+ years in additive manufacturing or hands-on production environments.
• Familiarity with 3D printing concepts; LPBF experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions with strong documentation discipline.
• Willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing setting.
• Clear communication and ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and perform daily maintenance on LPBF printers to support development and production.
• Prepare print jobs using printer software, including build setup and parameter selection.
• Execute print builds accurately and on schedule to meet commitments.
• Assist with printer installation, qualification, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/SAT/PQ).
• Support demonstrations and qualification runs for production scaling.
• Monitor print quality and escalate issues related to machine or process parameters.
• Maintain records and process data for traceability and continuous improvement.
