Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer – Additive Manufacturing in Warren, MI to own performance, continuous improvement, and industrialization of polymer and metal AM processes and equipment. You will support daily operations, improve metrics, and lead structured problem solving with cross‑functional teams.

Ideal candidates have hands‑on AM equipment experience, experience with DOE and capability studies, and a BS in a related engineering field.

Qualifications

• Background in manufacturing, process engineering, advanced manufacturing, or production operations.
• Structured problem‑solving methodologies to identify root causes and actions.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing performance using multiple metrics.
• Experience managing multiple priorities with ownership and accountability.
• Cross‑functional teamwork with engineers and manufacturing teams.
• Strong communication to influence stakeholders.
• Comfort with emerging technologies and changing requirements.
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or related engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of polymer and metal additive manufacturing equipment.
• Improve equipment performance using OEE, yield, scrap, cycle time and throughput metrics.
• Lead structured problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
• Design and execute DOE and capability studies to improve accuracy and stability.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Process and Bills of Equipment and process docs.
• Lead procurement, installation, commissioning and startup of new AM tech.
• Deliver technical training on additive manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, design and IT to align roadmaps.
• Evaluate emerging AM technologies and build strategic partnerships.
