Job summary

Gentex is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer II to develop and improve manufacturing methods for prototypes and low-volume production. You will plan processes, manage additive builds, and support post-processing, painting, and documentation to ensure high quality results.

You will collaborate with Design Engineering and Prototype teams to optimize manufacturability, validate tooling, and drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline and 3+ years in additive manufacturing or similar.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic or electromechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and optimize print files, selecting materials and parameters.
• Develop post-processing workflows.
• Improve paint preparation and cosmetic quality.
• Update manufacturing work instructions to improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot printing issues and improve machine utilization.
• Support equipment qualification and preventive maintenance.
• Inspect parts for defects and dimensional conformance.
• Coordinate prototype builds with Design Engineering and Prototype teams.
• Design, fabricate, and validate rapid tooling for prototyping.
