CACI seeks a visionary Additive Manufacturing (AM) expert to support NavalX within the Office of Naval Research. This flexible, part-time role offers a unique opportunity to drive cutting-edge AM advancements for naval applications. You'll enhance supply chain resilience, mitigate obsolescence, and accelerate certified AM part adoption. Leading strategic initiatives, you'll shape naval technology's future and influence high-level organizational practices. Blending academic expertise with industry application, you'll contribute to groundbreaking projects, collaborating with top minds in defense, academia, and industry. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, qualify, and integrate AM parts into platforms, providing technical assessments and recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate system-level risks associated with AM parts deployment in mission-critical environments.
  • Develop and implement innovative AM products, processes, and standards, integrating research and best practices.
  • Establish and execute strategic goals for AM technologies, improving existing processes and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership on project progress and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with ecosystem priorities.
  • Solve complex AM integration problems and influence organizational policies to facilitate adoption.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industries
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in areas such as Digital Engineering, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale technical projects and lead cross-functional teams with extensive knowledge of additive manufacturing processes, materials, and applications in naval or aerospace systems
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, solve complex AM integration problems, and influence organizational policies to facilitate adoption.

Desired:

  • Experience in strategic roles leading R&D and workforce development projects, with expertise in simulation, optimization, and digital manufacturing technologies
  • Experience with supplier evaluation and AI/ML applications in manufacturing

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
