Qualifications

• Credentialed as an alcoholism and substance abuse counselor (CASAC) within NYS or a Master’s in Social Work.
• At least one year of experience in Alcohol Substance Abuse Counseling.
• Preference for prior experience in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients to identify those needing further assessment or treatment for substance use disorders.
• Offer brief intervention sessions within SBIRT guidelines in the CPEP area.
• Refer patients to appropriate treatment services as needed.
• Provide guidance to faculty and staff on SBIRT processes and community resources.
• Stay current with addiction measures and regulatory requirements to ensure quality.
