Job summary

Spero Health in Zanesville, OH seeks an Addiction Medicine Physician or Nurse Practitioner to join our team and provide outpatient, medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. The role emphasizes integrated care, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continued patient support to improve outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an active license, DEA, and experience in addiction medicine; ability to prescribe buprenorphine is a requirement.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state ( physician or NP).
• Experience providing addiction medicine services for complex populations.
• Current DEA licensure and prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support for individuals with complex addiction and substance related health conditions.
• Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services.
• Educate patients regarding illness and prognosis to help with goals of care and care plans.
• Interpret test results to diagnose health issues and provide feedback to patients.
• Educate and counsel patients regarding medication compliance.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to provide medical and behavioral health services.
• Patient follow-up visits regarding progress with medication and treatment.
• Coordinate with PCPs and specialists as needed.
• Evaluate lab results and consult with APPs on abnormal results.
• Review and adjust progress and treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain licensure, certifications and CME credits.
