Medical Director - Missouri Poison Control - Clayton MO

Position Overview:

• Medical Director - Missouri Poison Center - St. Louis, MO
• Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
• Monday - Friday with flexible hours and on-call responsibilities
• Join a collaborative team under the Department of Cardinal Glennon
• Provide clinical consultation for patients of all ages throughout Missouri
• Oversee patient care toxicology services for the Poison Center across Missouri
• Advise and consult on operational policies, including purchasing, capital allocations, and managed care

• Accredited by the American Association of Poison Control Centers
• Required: Medical Board Certification with subspecialty Board Certification in Medical Toxicology

Job Summary:

Responsible for clinical supervision, consultation, development of medical guidelines, professional education, and staff development at the Missouri Poison Center. Assist the director with quality assurance, departmental policies, and administration of grants and contracts. Demonstrate active involvement in toxicology through education, research, and publications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure call coverage by medical staff during holidays, vacations, and other absences
• Maintain standards of practice for the patient population
• Manage clinical decision-making and maintain a private office during service hours
