Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a qualified professional to provide counseling, case management, and group education to individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug dependency. Under supervision, you will support patients within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a relevant degree, counseling knowledge, and at least one year of experience in substance abuse or related mental health settings.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field.
• Knowledge of individual and group counseling, as well as family education techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, staff, outside organizations, and healthcare partners.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
• Current Maryland Board of Professional Counselors certification as a CAC-AD, CSC-AD, or Addiction Counselor Trainee.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a substance abuse or related mental health setting.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Program Manager, this role provides individual counseling, case management, and/or group education to individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug dependency.
