Job summary

North Slope Borough School District is seeking an IT Technician to support technology across schools, including staff training and equipment maintenance. The role involves ensuring secure handling of staff/student agreements, on-site maintenance of computers, printers, and peripherals, and coordinating with InfoTech for repairs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assure that staff sign the Staff Technology Use Agreement Form and the Student Laptop Agreement Form and keep them in a secure location.
  • Provide on-site maintenance for computers, printers, scanners, and all associated devices and the site technology infrastructure.
  • Maintain familiarity with NSBSD applications and be able to train others.
  • Train new staff in setup, use and troubleshooting of video conferencing equipment, LCD projectors, SMART Boards, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Inventory all computers and peripherals at year end and complete all paperwork for the inventory checkout; store equipment securely per Plant Manager/Info Tech.
  • Repair computers via the InfoTech process and ensure all equipment moves smoothly through repairs.
  • Turn in Activity Reports with photos when applicable.

Withinthiscontext,webelievethattechnologyisatool forlearningthatexpandsour instructionalrepertoireandis a vehicle that can enhance instructional delivery, enrich student performance, and increase student engagement.

NSBSDTechnologyPointsofContact(POCs)areresponsibleforthefollowingitems:

1) Assure that the Site Technology POC will see that all computer/internet users in their school have signedtheStaffTechnologyUseAgreementForm,andtheStudentLaptopAgreementFormandwill keep those forms in a secure location.

2) Provide on-site maintenance for all computers, printers, scanners, all associated devices,as well as site technology infrastructure (connections, cables, routers, etc.)

  • All computersand monitors in the school should be either fully functional, awaiting parts or software or packaged for shipment to repair.
  • All scanners, printers,and other external devices should be connectedand functional orawaiting parts or software.
  • Allnecessarydataportsshouldhaveconnectivity.
  • Maintainworkstation connectivity toallapplications.
  • Performservermaintenanceandback-upsasneeded.
  • Work with site Administrator(s) to order new tech supplies throughout the year.

4) MaintainfamiliaritywithapplicationsontheNSBSDnetworkandbeabletotrainothers.

5) Trainnewstaffinthe setup,useandtroubleshootingofthe VideoConferencingequipment,LCDprojectors, SMART Boards,scanners,andother peripheraldevices.

6) At the end of the year, inventoryall computersand peripherals (including staff laptops) and completeallpaperworkassociatedwithinventoryaspertheendofyearcheckout.Storecomputers/ peripheralsinthesecuredlocationdeterminedbythePlantManagerand/or Info Tech.

7) Allcomputersinneedof repair sent to InfoTech.

COMPENSATION

Subject to negotiated agreement added duty compensation range and meeting all "Responsibilities". Payment may be prorated based on meeting the responsibilities.
