Job summary

Goodwill Industries Jersey Shore ADC in Jersey Shore, PA, is seeking a part-time Attended Donation Center Attendant to welcome donors and process donations.

You will unload items from donor vehicles, issue donation receipts, and maintain a clean, safe facility while upholding the Goodwill mission. Training is provided; physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required. This is a part-time, on-site role at Jersey Shore.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred, but on-the-job training is provided.
• Must have good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality.
• Must respond appropriately to supervision.
• Must possess adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Accept donations from the general public.
• Unload donations from donor vehicles and assist donors.
• Offer donation receipts and sign receipts acknowledging acceptance of donations.
• Thank donors for their donations and maintain a positive donor experience.
• Dress according to Goodwill dress code and maintain a clean ADC.
• Maintain interior and exterior of the ADC in a neat and orderly condition.
• Follow fire safety procedures and report any incidents to supervisor.
• Ensure donor access is cleared in winter and keep donations organized.
• Assist in loading/unloading Goodwill trucks.

Retail Program

PURPOSE:

Accept donations from the public

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Accept donations from the general public
• Treat all donors and all donations with respect
• Assist every donor in the unloading of donated items from donor's vehicles
• Offer every donor a donation tax receipt and sign all receipts acknowledging acceptance of donations
• Thank every donor for their donation
• Dress appropriately in accordance with Goodwill dress code
• Understanding of and commitment to the Goodwill Mission. Demonstrate effective communication of the Goodwill Mission to donor either verbally or through Mission related literature or messaging
• Maintain interior and exterior of the ADC assuring cleanliness, neatness, and orderliness throughout the day
• Maintain safe conditions for donors and staff and perform proper fire safety procedures. Promptly report any accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions to supervisor
• In the winter, assure that donor access is kept clear of snow and ice
• Store donations in such a way that all available ADC/trailer space is utilized, while stacking in a safe and orderly manner. All loose donations must be packed into bags or boxes
• All donations left outside in the off hours should be immediately placed inside
• Work at a pace which insures no backup or overflow of donations to exterior of ADC
• Maintain accurate record of total daily donors
• Assist in the loading and unloading of Goodwill trucks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Cross train in other areas as needed. Attendants will have the right with discretion, to politely refuse any donation that does not meet Goodwill's standards, i.e. tom, stained or broken furniture, large appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves, washers and dryers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Follow the policies, procedures and special instructions set down by the President and C.E.O. of Goodwill industries, Vice President of Retail Operations, Vice-President of Donation Procurement/Development, Senior Sales Manager and Store Manager/Assistant Manager.

RELATIONS:

Works under the direct supervision of:

• Store Manager/Assistant Manager
• Senior Sales Manager (either directly or indirectly.)
• Vice-President of Donation Procurement/Development (either directly or indirectly.)
• Vice President of Retail Operations (either directly or indirectly.)
• President and C.E.O. of Goodwill industries (either directly or indirectly.)
