Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan is seeking an ADAS Functional Safety Engineer to lead FuSa work across future vehicle programs within a hybrid home/office setup. You will drive safety concepts, TSRs, and verification plans for ADAS features and ECUs.

Responsibilities include coordinating with feature engineers, applying ISO 26262 methods, and supporting safety case development to ensure compliant, robust system performance across platforms.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years relevant experience in functional safety.
• ISO 26262 experience in ADAS/Autonomous projects recommended.

What you'll be able to do:

ADAS Functional Safety Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Lead the development and integration of Functional Safety (FuSa) work products on future vehicle program applications for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Lead the FuSa Systems Safety development including the development of the System Safety Concept, technical safety requirements (TSRs), verification and acceptance criteria methods for next generation microcontroller and microprocessor designs. Lead the cascade of TSRs to the hardware and software elements including the complete requirement traceability of the system/feature TSRs to the h/w and s/w requirements. Support the development of Interface specifications, FMEAs, FTAs, robustness discipline design, and dependent fault analysis for safety related functions and features. Understand the performance requirements for the sensing system relative to the ASIL rated features to ensure correct sensor performance envelop for the specific vehicle application as it relates to functional safety requirements. Support identification of vehicle application specific potential hazards and Safety Goals with associated Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) ratings for ADAS features. Ensure Successful application of the functional safety process for ADAS features on forward model vehicle programs. Closely coordinate with feature development engineers to support execution of functional safety design verification plans to ensure proper feature-level performance. Support Sign-off of Feature Level performance per a given vehicle with respect to functional safety. Support the development of the safety case through the ISO26262 safety analysis methodologies.

You’ll have…

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 4 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Functional safety experience including ISO 2626-3, -4, -5, -6, -7 standards applied to an Autonomous EV GoKart or ADAS project. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Functional safety experience implementing ISO 26262-9, -10 standards resulting in completion of the safety analysis using both qualitative and quantitative analysis methods for an Autonomous EV GoKart or ADAS project. 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Experience in embedded hardware or software design. 2. Developing Functional Safety Technical Concept in Microsoft Word. 3. Developing verification and validation methods for safety products in Microsoft Excel. 4. Agile Product Development Process. 5. Developing boundary diagrams in Visio.

We are offering a salary of$117,021.00 - $192,246.60/yr.
