Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an ADAS Feature and Software Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan. This hybrid role lets you work from home and on-site within commuting distance.

You will lead verification and validation of ADAS software, develop test procedures, and support automation in an agile team. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 3 years in related work, 2 years in sensor fusion and ADAS features, embedded systems, CAN/Automotive Ethernet, and debugging tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• 2 years of experience in sensor technology, ADAS features, embedded systems, and automotive networking.
• Experience with test strategies, plans, cases, and automation.
• 1 year of experience with debugging code and automated test scripts.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

What you’ll be able to do:

ADAS Feature and Software Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Lead and conduct the verification and validation of ADAS related software. Develop test procedures, plans, automated scripts, and cases. Define the test setup required to support validation and verification activities. Identify the equipment, tools, licenses, hardware, test systems (i.e. HiL), etc. needed and support test bench bring up. Identify test dependencies such as specifications, interfaces, compliance, hardware, software components, etc. Determine opportunities and provide support for automation and tooling. Perform automated and manual test execution, results analysis, root cause analysis, and verifications. Contribute to team results through ownership in agile scrum development sprints. Collaborate cross-functionally with technical specialists, feature owners, development teams, and other test teams in support of testing and development activities. Domestic Travel Required up to 10%.

You’ll have...

1. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
2. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Sensor Technology and Fusion: Knowledge in various sensor technology including cameras and radars, including technical specifications, integration points, and sensor data fusion techniques to support ADAS testing activities.
3. 2. ADAS Features Knowledge: Knowledge of ADAS features including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Cross-Traffic Alert, or Parking assist features to define and validate feature performance.
4. 3. Embedded systems, including microcontroller architecture and Real-Time Operating Systems (AUTOSAR) to support testing of ADAS components in real-time on HiL environments.
5. 4. Automotive Electronics and Communication Protocols: Utilizing vehicle electronic systems, including CAN (Controller Area Network), Automotive Ethernet, XCP, TCP, and UDP protocols, for data acquisition and system interaction.
6. 5. Diagnostics and Debugging: Experience using test and debugging tools (Lauterbach, Wireshark, IPG Carmaker, and Vector tools).
7. 6. Test Strategy and Plan Development: Ability to prepare test strategies, design test plans, test cases, and procedures based on requirements, designs, and specifications.
8. 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:1. Debugging code, developing automated test scripts, and processing data.
9. 2. Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.

We are offering a salary of$101,482.68 - $192,900.00/yr.
