Job Description Job Title: ADAS Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated ADAS Engineer to join the Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) department and help manage, develop, and evaluate next-generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features. In this role, you will contribute to researching, developing, validating, and bringing to market innovative ADAS technologies, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams and global counterparts to deliver safe, high-quality, and user-focused systems for future vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Plan the structure of ADAS parts and systems by defining performance targets, packaging concepts, electrical interfaces, and key parameters.
  • Follow established department processes to deliver error-free output for parts development, including parts lists, wire specifications, and part specifications.
  • Lead and support the identification, development, and integration of ADAS products for specified vehicle projects, aligning with project milestones and collaborating with related engineering groups.
  • Manage the development of ADAS components and systems through concurrent minor and major design changes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Create, maintain, and track detailed part development schedules through to Start of Production (SOP).
  • Conduct schedule negotiations with the Automated & Electronics Systems department and suppliers to align timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Assess project risks and develop risk management activities to maintain performance, cost, mass, quality, and user experience targets, making proposals and recommendations for recovery when necessary.
  • Participate in evaluation and manufacturing activities at event locations, supporting on-site validation and issue resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering staff at various design centers to coordinate ADAS development activities and share technical information.
  • Facilitate regular communication with Japan-based counterparts to support global ADAS development and alignment on system specifications and performance.
  • Support and advance the organization’s growth and responsibilities in developing ADAS systems, contributing to strategy and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with local development engineers and ADAS development engineers in Japan to apply ADAS systems to future vehicles and adapt them to local requirements.
  • Work closely with local customers and engineers to troubleshoot issues, implement bug fixes, and conduct joint testing of ADAS features.
  • Integrate system software with hardware platforms, analyze CAN data, and validate vehicle performance against design targets.
  • Perform virtual, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) testing using model-based simulation to verify ADAS functions and system robustness.
  • Review requirements and test specifications with suppliers, ensuring that ADAS components meet functional, performance, and quality standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement countermeasures for field issues related to ADAS systems.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations and technical reports for international audiences, including top executive management.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading or collaborating on the development of mid-size or large-scale ADAS systems from concept through production.
  • Hands‑on experience with vehicle architecture and sharing of system functions on vehicle ECUs.
  • Strong knowledge of in‑vehicle communication networks, including CAN and CAN‑FD.
  • Experience with development quality tools such as DFMEA and FTA.
  • Proven experience in developing ADAS systems including AEB, ACC, LKAS, PKSB, BSM, PVM, BGM, and camera‑based systems.
  • Experience in reviewing and refining requirements and test specifications with suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective countermeasures for ADAS‑related field issues.
  • Experience in developing ADAS systems using Python and C++.
  • Ability to integrate system software with hardware platforms and analyze CAN data to validate vehicle performance.
  • Experience performing virtual, HIL, and MIL testing using model-based simulation techniques.
  • Clear and concise presentation skills, both written and oral, suitable for international audiences.
  • Experience presenting complex technical topics to top executive management at VP level and above.
