Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an experienced ADAS Warranty & Field Quality Engineer to lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of field quality and warranty issues across ADAS vehicle systems.

You will serve as the technical interface between ADAS Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Service, Suppliers, Warranty, and Customer Experience to identify emerging issues, determine root causes, and drive corrective actions to reduce warranty exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of automotive engineering experience.
  • Experience with ADAS, warranty, field quality, diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet.

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigation and resolution of ADAS warranty and field quality issues across vehicle programs.
  • Analyze warranty claims, dealership repair data, customer complaints, connected vehicle data, diagnostic information, and field reports.
  • Identify emerging trends, recurring failures, and potential systemic quality issues.
  • Lead root-cause investigations involving ADAS hardware, software, sensors, calibration, vehicle integration, environmental conditions, and user interactions.
  • Drive issue containment, corrective actions, and permanent countermeasures.
  • Prepare technical reports, management presentations, issue summaries, and corrective-action documentation.

We are seeking an experienced ADAS Warranty & Field Quality Engineer to lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of field quality and warranty issues across ADAS vehicle systems.

The engineer will serve as a technical interface between ADAS Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Service, Suppliers, Warranty, and Customer Experience organizations to identify emerging field issues, determine root causes, drive corrective actions, and reduce warranty exposure.

The ideal candidate will have experience with automotive systems, ADAS, field quality, warranty analysis, diagnostics, embedded systems, testing, and structured problem solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead investigation and resolution of ADAS warranty and field quality issues across vehicle programs.
  • Analyze warranty claims, dealership repair data, customer complaints, connected vehicle data, diagnostic information, and field reports.
  • Identify emerging trends, recurring failures, and potential systemic quality issues.
  • Lead root-cause investigations involving ADAS hardware, software, sensors, calibration, vehicle integration, environmental conditions, and user interactions.
  • Drive issue containment, corrective actions, and permanent countermeasures.
  • Investigate issues involving:
  • Radar Sensors
  • Driver Monitoring Systems
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Park Assist
  • Surround View Cameras
  • Automated and Assisted Driving Features
  • Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, and similar methodologies.
  • Analyze diagnostic logs, software logs, test results, vehicle data, and field information to identify failure mechanisms.
  • Coordinate vehicle inspections, field evaluations, dealership investigations, and issue reproduction activities.
  • Work with suppliers to investigate failures, review corrective actions, and validate countermeasures.
  • Monitor warranty and quality KPIs and identify opportunities for warranty cost reduction.
  • Partner with ADAS development, systems, validation, functional safety, and vehicle integration teams to resolve field issues.
  • Support launch readiness by identifying historical quality risks and ensuring appropriate preventive actions.
  • Recommend improvements to product design, software, calibration, diagnostics, validation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare technical reports, management presentations, issue summaries, and corrective-action documentation.
  • Track issues through resolution and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant automotive engineering experience.
  • Experience with automotive systems, quality, validation, diagnostics, warranty, field issue investigation, or ADAS.
  • Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
  • Experience analyzing technical data and identifying trends and failure patterns.
  • Understanding of hardware/software integration and embedded automotive systems.
  • Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, or Automotive Ethernet.
  • Experience with vehicle testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, or validation.Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with ADAS systems and features.
  • Experience in automotive warranty or field quality engineering.
  • Experience with 8D, 5-Why, FTA, DFMEA/PFMEA, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience working with automotive suppliers.
  • Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic tools, data logging, calibration, and failure reproduction.
  • Experience with connected vehicle data or OTA software updates.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262, SOTIF, ASPICE, or ADAS validation.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, SQL, or other data-analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting vehicle launches and production quality.
