Job summary

Magna Electronics in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer focused on ADAS perception. You will design, implement, and optimize image processing and deep learning models for production ECUs, handling object detection, segmentation, and tracking while balancing accuracy, latency, memory, and power targets.

The role requires a strong background in image processing, machine learning, and mathematics/physics, with collaboration across engineering teams to integrate models

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years in computer vision and image-processing algorithm development, with deep learning experience.
• Strong programming in C/C++; Python with DL frameworks is advantageous.
• Solid grasp of ML concepts and architectures (CNNs, RNNs, transformers).
• Experience in image segmentation and object detection, image data prep/enhancement.
• Experience optimizing models for performance (quantization, distributed training).
• Familiarity with ASPICE or CMMI and disciplined software processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, implement, and optimize image processing algorithms for automotive embedded serial production projects.
• Design, tune, and optimize deep learning models for ADAS perception and improve computational performance.
• Plan experiments to assess DL models and validate results through testing.
• Analyze camera models, lens distortion, and projective transformations Techniques.
• Analyze large datasets to refine models and improve robustness.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate models into existing systems.
• Document development processes and maintain detailed experiment logs.
