Job summary

General Motors is seeking a high-performing Design Release Engineer for Active Safety Components. You will define requirements, drive design, analysis, testing, and manage programs for camera-based ADAS systems with a focus on cost, timing, and quality.

You will lead design reviews, collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing, and ensure successful integration of hardware and software interfaces across vehicle programs. Hybrid work and travel up to 25% are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Thorough understanding of Camera design, construction, assembly, operation and optics.
• Experience with Camera Development and Integration into the vehicle.
• Knowledge of software development and systems as it pertains to engineering preferred.
• Understanding of product design and process interdependencies.
• High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• DRE for ADAS Cameras including hardware and calibrations.
• Develops component specifications and subsystem technical specs.
• Leads design reviews and resolution of technical issues.
• Releases parts and subsystems for production.
• Coordinates with manufacturing and supplier teams to implement cost reductions and improvements.
• Plans and implements validation and development programs.
