Solterra School is seeking an Adaptive Teacher to lead a classroom for students with significant cognitive, communication, behavioral, and sensory needs. The role emphasizes individualized instruction aligned to each student’s IEP goals and close collaboration with BCBA, RBTs, and related services.

Hours are 8:00am–3:30pm, on-site, with a salary range of $75,000–$95,000 per year. Qualifications include a Virginia Special Education license and relevant experience; a Master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required.
• Active or eligible Virginia teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
• Demonstrated experience working with students with significant or complex disabilities.
• Experience collaborating with BCBA, RBTs, and Related Services teams is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Deliver individualized, functional instruction aligned to each student's IEP goals.
• Build a structured, predictable classroom using visual supports and AAC.
• Implement behavior support plans with the BCBA and RBTs.
• Embed functional life skills—self-care, routines, and independence—into the school day.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom and oversee RBTs and paraprofessionals.
• Collaborate daily with OT, SLP, and the behavior team to weave strategies into instruction.
• Keep IEP documentation and progress notes accurate and timely.
• Partner with families so strategies carry over to school and home.
