Job summary

Kids First Sports Center in Cincinnati is seeking an Adaptive Swim Coach to deliver individualized and group instruction to children aged 3-12 with special needs. No prior swim instruction is required as training will be provided, focusing on a compassionate, patient approach.

The role offers a part-time or PRN schedule with a supportive team and opportunities to grow within the adaptive program and broader facility services, including on-site therapies for families.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with special needs or a strong interest in doing so.
• Strong communication skills with children and parents.
• Patient, adaptable, and encouraging teaching style.
• Reliable and available for a flexible part-time or PRN schedule.
• Comfortable in and around water; prior swim instruction experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group swim instruction to children ages 3-12 with special needs.
• Adapt lesson plans to meet each student's needs and abilities.
• Build trust with students and families.
• Communicate student progress with parents and caregivers.
• Maintain a safe, supportive pool environment.
• Collaborate with staff to support the student experience.
• Complete training in the swim curriculum and adaptive teaching methods.
