The role requires delivering lesson content, maintaining classroom safety, and ensuring continuity of instruction in a supportive Catholic education environment. Qualifications include a high school diploma (Bachelor’s in education preferred) and a willingness to obtain a substitute permit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred.
• Teaching certification or substitute teacher permit may be required in some districts.
• Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred but not always required.

Responsibilities

• Follow the lesson plan provided by the absent teacher or school administration.
• Deliver instructional content to students using appropriate materials, tools, and resources.
• Adapt lessons and activities as needed to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
• Enforce school rules and policies to ensure smooth class operations.
• Manage student behavior and address disruptions using appropriate methods.
• Actively engage students in learning activities to promote participation.
• Provide guidance and support to help students understand the material.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback according to the lesson plan.
• Administer quizzes, tests, and assessments as required.
• Submit completed work and any necessary reports to the regular teacher or school administration.
• Communicate effectively with students, school staff, and administrators.
• Report any issues or incidents during the day, such as conflicts or accidents, to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure the physical and emotional safety of students at all times.
• Follow any specific health, safety, or emergency protocols as required by the school.
