Job summary

The role emphasizes behavioral strategies and supportive supervision in all settings, including playtime. Candidates should hold a Nebraska teaching or substitute certificate; a Special Education endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Nebraska teaching certificate or Nebraska Substitute Teacher Certificate or a Local Substitute Teacher Certificate required.
• PEM, CPR and nationally recognized personal restraint model must be obtained if subbing in the RTC or select settings required.
• Background and experience to include work with learning disabled and behaviorally impaired learners preferred.
• Special Education endorsement preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and adapt instruction to meet student needs and IEPs.
• Instruct using varied methods and maintain lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents and staff.
• Supervise students and ensure safety on playground and classrooms.
• Assist with self-help skills and social skills development.
• Grade class work and may administer tests where applicable.
• Follow policies on student interventions and behavior management.
