Job summary

New Horizons, Inc. is hiring an Adaptive Skills Training Specialist to empower adults with developmental disabilities in a residential home setting.

You will implement individualized training plans to develop adaptive, social, vocational, communication, and daily living skills, while promoting community integration and independence. The role offers a flexible 20–30 hour schedule per week, with a part-time benefits eligibility, and requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation, or related field.
• Full professional proficiency in verbal and written English.
• Minimum of three (3) years of licensed driving experience.
• Willingness and ability to safely operate an 8-passenger agency vehicle.
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings including criminal background check and TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered, community-based instruction and support.
• Develop adaptive, social, vocational, communication, and daily living skills.
• Promote community integration per IPP/PCP and DDS requirements.
• Advocate and mentor to maximize each individual's independence and participation.
