Job summary

Frederick County Government seeks qualified staff for adaptive recreation programs. The role supports children, teens, and adults with disabilities across multiple parks and centers, with up to 10 hours per week during 6–8 week sessions.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, teaching activities, adapting routines, and maintaining documents. Must be 18+, CPR/First Aid certified or certified soon, and ready to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age.
• 1 year experience with individuals with disabilities or pursuing related degree.
• First Aid and CPR certification, infant/child and adult, or able to obtain before start.
• Related education may count toward requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and execute lesson plans for adaptive programs.
• Teach and demonstrate program-related skills and techniques.
• Adapt activities to meet participants' needs and maintain behavior protocols.
• Open/close program area and handle setup/cleanup.
• Maintain equipment and track attendance/participant progress.
• Communicate with participants and parents; report progress to supervisors.
