Job summary

The Ionia County Intermediate School District seeks an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to provide specially designed instruction for students with disabilities, including ASD, SCI, SEI, and moderate cognitive impairments at Freedom Acres and other ISD locations.

The successful candidate will plan classroom-based activities aligned to individual needs and IEP goals, promote least restrictive environment, and work with general education staff, therapists, and families to support students'

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with SP (Physical Education for Students with Disabilities) endorsements
• Meets requirements for adaptive physical education teachers under Michigan rules
• Knowledge of IEP development in Adaptive PE

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality adaptive physical education for students with disabilities
• Plan classroom-based recreational activities considering individual needs and LRE
• Collaborate with general education staff, parents, and specialists
