Job summary

ROGERS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Special Education Teacher - Life Skills to support students with diverse needs. You will develop and modify curricula and prepare lessons aligned to IEP goals within a team or campus setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas SPED certificate and a bachelor’s degree, with strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with families and staff for student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs for assigned students.
• Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate instruction using varied strategies and materials.
• Present subject matter per IEP guidelines and employ diverse media including technology.
• Modify regular curricula to assist SPED students in regular classes when needed.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
• Select books, equipment, and other instructional media.
