Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an Adaptive Fitness Group Exercise Instructor for a part-time, hourly role based in Royersford, PA. The position involves leading adaptive group fitness classes, maintaining YMCA safety and standards, and delivering excellent member service.

Responsibilities include planning routines, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and ensuring class safety. Requirements include 18+ and a high school diploma, plus YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise or national certification.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age and high school diploma or equivalent.
• YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence

Responsibilities

• Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness.
• Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards.
• Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff. Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or concerns within the facility.
• Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction.
• Ensure that safe movement and technique is utilized by every member in all classes.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and maintain records on any incidents.
