Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA seeks a certified group fitness instructor to transform lives through engaging classes and strong member connections. This part-time, hourly role offers flexible scheduling and rewards like YMCA membership and in-branch babysitting where available.

You will lead diverse classes, prepare routines within YMCA standards, and support members in adopting healthy lifestyles while prioritizing safety and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness.
• Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards.
• Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff. Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or concerns within the facility.
• Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction.
• Ensure that safe movement and technique is utilized by every member in all classes.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and maintain records on any incidents.
