Job summary

KIPP North Carolina is seeking Daily Substitute teachers to support learning across eight charter schools in NC. Substitute teachers are called on as needed and must be ready to implement provided lesson plans, maintain classroom routines, and support a safe, engaging learning environment.

Ideal candidates demonstrate commitment to closing opportunity gaps, flexibility, and a sense of humor. Prior experience in high-performing settings and Spanish fluency are a plus.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Criminal background checks are required.
• Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap.
• Zest, grit, professionalism and sense of humor are valued.

Responsibilities

• Execute provided lesson plans.
• Collect student work and provide feedback as needed.
• Ensure agendas, objectives and homework are displayed for the class.
• Embody and maintain the school’s values, policies and culture.
• Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers and staff.
• Demonstrate a Growth Mindset and collaborate with colleagues.
• Support arrival, recess and dismissal to ensure student safety.
