Job summary

The EC teacher collaborates with nurses, therapists, families, and staff to deliver individualized instruction, manage IEPs, and support transition services within a safe, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Holds or is eligible to hold a North Carolina Exceptional Children teaching license appropriate for assignment.
• Maintains all licensure requirements.
• Completes district-required training including behavioral intervention and crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Provides specially designed instruction aligned with each student's IEP.
• Develops, implements, and monitors IEPs.
• Serves as case manager for assigned students.
• Delivers instruction aligned to NC Extended Content Standards.
• Plans functional academics, communication, social and living skills, and transition services.
• Collaborates with related service providers to implement therapeutic recommendations.
• Maintains educational records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Communicates with parents regarding student progress.
• Performs other duties assigned by the principal.
