Job summary

Jacob's Chance in Richmond, VA is seeking an Athletic Director to plan, develop, and manage adaptive athletic programs for youth and adults with disabilities. You will recruit and train coaches, coordinate venues, maintain equipment, and collaborate with families, volunteers, and community partners to expand opportunities.

The ideal candidate is organized, relationship-driven, and able to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 1+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in sports, recreation, or community wellness settings.
• Experience in a mission-driven or community-based organization encouraged.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee year-round athletic programs.
• Collaborate with community partners and venues to secure program space.
• Manage athletic equipment: inventory, maintenance, storage, and organization.
• Recruit, train, and support coaches and instructors; foster positive relationships.
• Attend and assist with athletic programs; ensure participant attendance.
• Communicate regularly with participants, families, and volunteers.
