Under intermittent supervision, the successful candidate will build expertise through casework, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to office operations while upholding county policies and ethics.

Qualifications

• Must be a Law school graduate, licensed or awaiting license by the State Bar of Texas.
• 1 year of experience in family, probate, civil or criminal litigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgment.
• Ability to work under high-pressure situations.
• Confidentiality is essential in handling cases and client information.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute and defend cases in trial and appellate courts and administrative forums.
• Provide written or verbal legal advice to clients and government entities.
• Investigate facts and draft legal instruments with legal implications.
• Mentor less experienced attorneys and oversee staff as needed.
• Represent the County in complex litigation and negotiations.
• Prepare comprehensive memoranda and advise on judicial actions.
