Job summary

Mercy Ada is seeking a flexible Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a PRN/Per Diem basis. The role offers day or night shift options with no guaranteed weekend, holiday, or fixed shift requirements, and comes with a $40/hour base rate plus a variable shift incentive.

You must hold an active RN license in the hiring state, and BSN is preferred. Applicants should have at least 1 year of bedside RN experience in Med Surg or 2+ years in other specialties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Maintains current RN license in the hiring state/compact licensure.
• Experience: 1 year bedside RN for Med Surg; 2+ years for other specialties.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for patient care and outcomes.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and team members.
• Protects patient rights and confidentiality.

Overview

Are you seeking a flexible incentivized Registered Nurse position? Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift- whatever works best for you! No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement. Participation in the Gig Nursing Program requires being responsible for scheduling a minimum number of hours, being available on short notice, being flexible and subject to last minute shift cancellation. The Gig Nursing Program does not offer guaranteed shift hours and will be the first for cancellation.

Is responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience

One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg. For all other specialties, a minimum of two years of recent bed-side RN experience.

Certifications

• For Med Surg and Women's and Children's (WC): BLS
• For Critical Care (CC): BLS, ACLS
• For ED: BLS, ACLS, & PALS

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
