Job summary

The Therapeutic Assistant reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide patient care aligned with the interdisciplinary treatment plan. You will assist with admissions/discharges and promote safety in a psychiatric setting, supporting activities of daily living for adult patients.

Qualified candidates may have a high school diploma with experience or a relevant bachelor’s degree, and must obtain BLS within two weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Therapeutic Assistant I requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Therapeutic Assistant II requires a bachelor's in Human Services or related field, or a high school diploma with 1 year in behavioral health or related healthcare.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 2 weeks of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse per the treatment plan.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes and daily activities.
• Promote safety in the therapeutic environment and support activities of daily living.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or closely related field
