Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Mount Pleasant, TX seeks a dedicated patient care aide to support a psychiatric unit. You will assist patients with daily living, take vital signs, weigh patients, and support group activities and therapy sessions.

Under a licensed nurse, you provide hygiene assistance and basic nursing tasks, participate in in-service education and staff meetings, and work the 7 PM–7 AM shift on a per diem basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• BLS certification required

• Take vital signs and routine measurements

Summary:

Facilitates the maintenance of the therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and assists patients with daily living activities. Establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients. Takes vital signs, weighs patients, and collects routine specimens. Attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of a licensed nurse, performs various service related activities in support of patient care and the patient care unit
• Responsible for direct and indirect care to assigned patients primarily focusing on hygiene activities of daily living, vital signs and recreational activities
