Michigan Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Acute Care Surgery and Burn services. The APP will support inpatient care, assist in outpatient clinics, and collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and residents on quality and performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include rounds, orders, documentation, and education for patients and families, with opportunities to participate in a 24/7 staffed ACS service.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accredited PA program completion.
• NCCPA certification.
• Current Michigan PA license.

Responsabilités

• Inpatient rounding and order entry.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate with consulting teams.
• Maintain complete and timely documentation of patient care.
• Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds with case managers and others.
• Ambulatory clinic care of general surgery and burn patients.
• Order and prescribe medications per Michigan statutes.
• Assist with minor procedures and wound care.
• Manage lines and drains.
• Educate patients and families on disease management.
• Participate in educational activities of the Acute Care Surgery service.
