Job summary

Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Professional (PA or NP) to support the Acute Care Surgery and Burn services. You will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for general surgery and burn patients, with duties spanning rounding, tests, documentation, and education.

Applicants must have PA or NP credentials as specified, including required certifications and state licenses.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA accreditation for PA program
• NCCPA certification required
• Current Michigan PA license required
• NP track: ACNP or AGACNP cert and MI RN license + NP cert
• BLS, NPI, DEA, Michigan CS license required
• 1 year outpatient surgical/urgent care APP experience
• 3 years inpatient surgical APP experience
• Credentialing and privileging process completion is required

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rounding and order entry
• Order/interpret diagnostic tests
• Coordinate with consulting teams
• Document patient care thoroughly
• First contact for patient care via EMR secure chat, page, and phone
• Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds with care team
• Coordinate transition of care between inpatient and outpatient
• Ambulatory clinic care for general surgery and burn patients
• Prescribe medications per MI law
• Perform minor procedures and wound care
• Manage catheters and drains
• Educate patients and families on disease and trajectory
• Assess peri-procedural risk and medication needs
• Engage in education within the Acute Care Surgery service
