Job summary

North Central Baptist Hospitals is seeking a Speech Therapist to manage and evaluate tests and measurements for adult patients, planning and modifying treatments with clinical competency. The role requires knowledge of interpreter coordination, documentation, and collaboration with the care team.

Minimum requirements include a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and completion of Clinical Fellowship; Texas licensure and ASHA CCC are expected for experienced candidates.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology/Communication Sciences and Disorders is required.
• Completion of Clinical Fellowship; eligibility for Speech Language Pathologist Level II after 3 full years/beginning of 4th year.
• Preferred: Competency in Modified Barium Swallow Exams and FEES; Spanish Proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician orders and requests interpretation as necessary.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients.
• Reviews patient chart and progress prior to treatment and modifies the treatment plan accordingly.
• Develops realistic functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations.
• Instructs and involves patient, family, social worker, nursing staff and discharge planner in patient’s progress and discharge plans.
• Maintains documentation on all treatments.
• Assists with staff education and performance improvement activities.
