Tenet Healthcare's Northeast Baptist Hospital is seeking a Speech Therapist (PRN Days) to evaluate, plan, and implement speech-language pathology treatment programs for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to assess, re-assess, and tailor care plans while documenting outcomes and participating in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology/Communication Sciences and Disorders (required).
• Completion of Clinical Fellowship (required).
• Texas State License and CCC from ASHA (for experienced applicants).
• Intern License from the State of Texas for new graduates.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire.
• Spanish proficiency (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Responds to physician orders for speech therapy.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients.
• Reviews patient charts and progress prior to treatment and modifies the treatment plan accordingly.
• Develops functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations.
• Restores cognitive, language comprehension and expression skills through assessment and therapy.
• Instructs and involves patient, family, social worker, nursing and discharge planner in progress and discharge plans.
• Maintains documentation on all treatments.
• Provides clinical education for SLP students.
• Addresses incidents or equipment issues to supervisor promptly.
• Organizes schedule to reflect patient priorities and department needs.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
