Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist to support the acute care service. The role involves evaluating and treating adults with swallowing and communication disorders, with MBSS/FEES experience preferred and weekday availability on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, patient and family education, timely documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team for discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted license and ASHA-related certifications as required.
• At least two years of acute care/LTACH/acute rehab experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage adult inpatients with swallowing disorders, MBSS and FEES.
• Assess and manage adult inpatients with acute speech, language, and cognition disorders.
• Educate patients and caregivers on evaluation findings and care recommendations.
• Communicate discharge needs to healthcare team and arrange follow-up.
• Complete timely, thorough documentation per guidelines.
• Serve as a clinical resource to colleagues.
• Stay current with advances through meetings, CE, and literature.
