Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP/CCC-SLP) to join our Acute Care Rehabilitation Services team. The role involves evaluating and treating patients with dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, stroke, and neurologic conditions in an inpatient setting.

The SLP will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in swallow evaluations, MBSS/VFSS services, and ensure evidence-based patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
• CCC-SLP certification required
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred
• BLS/CPR within 30 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Evaluate communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments and observations.
• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans addressing communication, swallowing, and functional progress.
• Document evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries with accuracy and timeliness.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, safety, home strategies, and expected progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehab staff, and care managers to support coordinated care and smooth transitions.
