Job summary

Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, Illinois is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our acute care team. The RN will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients and will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and interpersonal skills, be able to manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate flexibility with assignments within licensure scope.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PALS certification within 1 year of hire.
• ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
• New Graduate RNs starting on or after 1/1/25 must earn BSN within 3 years of start date.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status; document observations.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families considering culture and age.
• Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Support discharge planning and patient experience.
• Adhere to infection control protocols.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Current RN license in Illinois

BLS certification required

PALS certification within 1 year of hire

ACLS certification within 1 year of hire

BSN within 3 years for new graduates
