Job summary

Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, IL seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our acute care team. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced setting with strong clinical and interpersonal skills.

The role requires IL RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS as applicable, and BSN within 3 years for new grads. Two years of acute care experience preferred; a commitment to patient-centered care is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current RN license in Illinois.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS certification within 1 year for pediatric unit.
• ACLS certification within 1 year for ICU.
• New Graduate RNs starting 1/1/25 must earn BSN within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered; monitor responses.
• Monitor vital signs and document changes promptly.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other health professionals; participate in discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families considering culture and age; provide resources for recovery.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
