Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5 South unit, a fast-paced medical-surgical team. You will provide individualized nursing care to acutely ill adults, utilizing a team approach for admissions, transfers and discharges.

Join a large system with a mission to improve community health; rotate shifts including days, evenings, and nights. Iowa licensure and BLS are required; hospital experience a plus.

Qualifications

• RN license in Iowa or compact state required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required within six weeks of hire.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality nursing care on a fast‑paced unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for acutely ill adults.
• Practice safe patient handling techniques.
• Collaborate with healthcare team for admission, transfer, and discharge planning.
• Supervise and guide Patient Care Technicians.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment setup and use to maximize patient safety.
